Monday, August 25, 2008,

So it's a new season for Fashion and I must say I've been super anxious for the fall to arrive. I picked up my September issue of Vogue and I couldn't help but be excited throughout all of it's 798 pages. If you haven't already, PICK IT UP! This post is for the Fashion-challenged who weren't paying attention during Fashion Week and need some hints on looking FIERCE (as the fabulous Christian Siriano would say) this season.

1.PLAID

Ralph Lauren is doing amazing things with plaid. I love it! Designers are using different colors with plaid but my favorite is the classic red and black plaid. There are a lot of great looking coats in plaid which are a must for your fall wardrobe. On top of a nice coat, why not pick up a nice bag as well? Much to my surprise bags look absolutely great in plaid.

2. LACE

Ever heard of "inner wear is outerwear." Well that is the case with lace. Lace isn't only for undies anymore in case you haven't noticed. Lace can make any outfit look super classy and dress up any casual piece.

Our friends at Prada are very big on lace this season. They have even incorporated it into  some of their handbags.

Don't go crazy with the lace ladies. The picture to the left from Prada's Fall '08 collection is a bit much for me, but you get the idea. I have seen some lace dresses however, that are gorgeous! I suggest using lace pieces to dress up an outfit, I wouldn't go crazy and make every part of your outfit consist of lace. Sorry, unless you're that great, I don't think it would be a good look.

3. PRINTS

Animal prints have been big for a while but this season they are moving on from simple animal prints like Zebra and Leopard to more interesting and colorful ones like peacock prints. On top of that, mixing animal and floral prints seems to be the way to go. Good old Roberto Cavalli has some beautiful pieces out this season.

4. BELL SLEEVED COATS/ SWEATERS

pringle bell sleeve coatBell sleeves are just too cute. A bell sleeved coat should definitely be a part of your wardrobe this fall/winter. I personally feel they make you look like a cute little doll yet VERY classy. Bell sleeved sweaters are also equally cute and can definitely dress up the simplest outfit.

What's the best way to complete an awesome outfit? AWESOME SHOES! Keep an eye out for shoes with sculptured platforms or heels. What I love most about these shoes is not that they're absolutely stellar but that they transform fashion into art. That is exactly what these shoes by Miu Miu are. ART!

Well kiddies, that's all for now. I'm about to go watch Superbad for the millionth and one time :) PEAS
